The Technical Program Manager II - Azure Networking at Microsoft is responsible for the velocity and quality of network scale-out, driving business value by meeting customer capacity needs in datacenters and edge sites. This role involves collaborating across organizations to design network and software platforms, working with Software and Network Engineering on technical solutions, defining success criteria for cross-functional projects, delivering on feature roadmaps, and driving continuous improvements through data-driven analysis. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities and gaps, proposing risk mitigations, coordinating across teams, tracking project schedules, and contributing to customer support and direct engagements. The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering, program management, and data analysis, along with strong cross-functional project management skills.

As a Technical Program Manager II - Azure Networking, you will be responsible for the overall velocity and quality of network scale out. You will drive business value by working across organizations to meet Microsoft customer capacity needs in Microsoft datacenters and edge sites. You will learn about the Microsoft Cloud and accelerate your career growth by driving design of network and software platforms within the Network team and across partner infrastructure organizations in Microsoft.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

 

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ years of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Previous experience in Networking and Software development is a plus.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Begin to identify opportunities and gaps across product and service feature areas, then collaborate with other departments to evaluate opportunity and define solution options.
  • Work with Software and Network Engineering to design technical solutions. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.
  • Define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams.
  • With minimal supervision, you will help deliver on roadmap for feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and stay updated with governance programs.
  • Drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and partnering with other departments to collect performance metrics. You’ll also contribute to customer support and participate in direct customer engagements.
