Job Description

The UX Data Researcher role at HTX Labs involves analyzing, architecting, and managing data systems to support immersive training products, user insights, and product optimization. This role is a part of the Innovation & Design team and will focus on shaping the future of products by understanding and adapting to user requirements. The researcher will be working in a fast-paced, agile environment. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining scalable data architectures for immersive training XR applications, analyzing large datasets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing reports, integrating analytics systems, and optimizing user experiences using machine learning.
Must have:
  • Strong foundation in data analysis and architecture.
  • Skilled at synthesizing data for UX design decisions.
  • Proficient in user behavior and motivation studies.
  • Experience with XR products.
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with LRS, LMS, SCORM, xAPI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience with agile development.

Description


We’re looking for a UX Data Researcher to be a part of our Innovation & Design team. This role will focus on analyzing, architecting, and managing data systems to support immersive training products, user insights, and product optimization. Your expertise in research, data analytics, visualization, and infrastructure design will be instrumental in shaping the future of our products, helping us understand and adapt to user requirements at scale.


Your interest in Extended Reality (XR) and data-driven insights will complement our multidisciplinary team. You will operate in a fast-paced, agile environment with the opportunity to work on a variety of hardware devices and innovative technological solutions.

  • You bring a strong foundation in data analysis and architecture, with the ability to design scalable data systems that support immersive applications.
  • You are skilled at synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data into actionable recommendations to inform product and UX design decisions.
  • You are proficient in studying user behaviors, needs, and motivations, with a passion for delivering data-driven insights that enhance user experiences.
  • You have proficiency in studying user interactions through usability testing, surveys, analytics, and other research methodologies.
  • You are passionate about optimizing learning in virtual and physical environments by combining user-centered research with advanced data insights.
  • You have experience working with XR products and understand the intersection of user experience, data analytics, and the customer journey.
  • You excel at collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating research and data findings into solutions that align with product goals.
  • You stay current with trends in UX research, data analytics, and emerging technologies, particularly in XR and spatial computing.
  • You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to present complex data and research findings in a clear and engaging manner.
  • You are a problem-solver who combines cutting-edge innovation with a pragmatic approach to drive adoption and ease of use.


Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures to support immersive training XR applications.
  • Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, behaviors, and insights to inform product decisions and strategy.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to translate data findings into actionable insights.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualization tools to provide clear insights into user behavior and system performance.
  • Integrate and manage analytics systems to monitor the performance of XR applications in real time.
  • Work with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for success.
  • Use machine learning and predictive analytics to optimize user experiences and product functionality.
  • Research and evaluate emerging data technologies to improve analytics capabilities and system efficiency.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all systems.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and experimentation.


Skills

  • Strong experience with data analysis tools and visualization platforms.
  • Proficiency in database design, management, and querying.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data architecture.
  • Familiarity with analytics frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with data governance, and security compliance.
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive analytics techniques.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for learning new tools and technologies in the data and XR space.
  • An understanding of human-centered design principles and their application in XR.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data architecture, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience working with LRS, LMS, SCORM, xAPI products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with agile development processes.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.



This is a full time position.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Director of Innovation & Design
