This Account Strategist role at Google Customer Solutions focuses on driving growth for medium and large businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Responsibilities include delivering against quarterly growth goals, owning a portfolio of clients, understanding their growth drivers, identifying opportunities, managing risks, and creating multi-quarter plans. Excellent communication and storytelling abilities are essential for client engagement and success.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in advertising sales/strategy
  • Fluent English communication
  • Achieve ambitious growth goals
  • Own client portfolios and manage relationships
Good to have:
  • Experience in performance marketing
  • Knowledge of online marketing strategies
  • Proven ability to overachieve quotas
  • Strong narrative and storytelling skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in advertising sales and strategy, marketing, consulting, or media.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationships in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience strategically assessing and achieving client success via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling, compelling narratives, storytelling, and competitive selling.
  • Knowledge of online marketing strategy and tactics, and expertise in managing digital advertising campaigns with a focus on performance marketing.
  • Ability to own a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context and consistently overachieve quotas to drive growth.
  • Ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling as a client engagement strategy.
