This Account Strategist role at Google Customer Solutions focuses on driving growth for medium and large businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. Responsibilities include delivering against quarterly growth goals, owning a portfolio of clients, understanding their growth drivers, identifying opportunities, managing risks, and creating multi-quarter plans. The role involves pitching and consulting with clients, supporting annual digital marketing discussions and budgets, and delivering outstanding customer experiences to achieve customer business and marketing objectives. Strong relationship building with clients and agencies is crucial. The ideal candidate possesses experience in advertising sales, strategy, marketing, or media, combined with expertise in online marketing and digital advertising campaigns. Excellent communication and storytelling abilities are essential for client engagement and success.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in advertising sales/strategy
  • Fluent English communication

  • Own client portfolios and manage relationships

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in advertising sales and strategy, marketing, consulting, or media.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationships in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience strategically assessing and achieving client success via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling, compelling narratives, storytelling, and competitive selling.
  • Knowledge of online marketing strategy and tactics, and expertise in managing digital advertising campaigns with a focus on performance marketing.
  • Ability to own a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context and consistently overachieve quotas to drive growth.
  • Ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling as a client engagement strategy.

  • Manage stakeholders and build relationships with the end customer or agencies.
