Job Description

Waze is seeking an Android Software Engineer to design, develop, and test features for the Waze Android app. This role involves collaborating with engineers, designers, and product managers, requiring strong Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and C++ skills. The ideal candidate will stay abreast of the latest Android technologies and contribute to Waze's overall product success. Responsibilities include contributing to the core functionalities of the Waze Android app, ensuring performance and scalability, collaborating on software design and architecture, and participating in code reviews. The position requires a deep understanding of Android application development, data structures, and algorithms.

Must have:

Kotlin/Java experience
Android app development
Data structures & algorithms
Testing and debugging
Collaboration skills

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS
Jetpack Compose experience
C++ experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in Kotlin or Java programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience with Android application and framework development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
