An ideal opportunity for a generalist engineering school student with strong emphasis on applied mathematics, data mining and Python development who is planning to do a "césure" between the 4th and 5th year of studies. Applicants can also be in a specialised master course, but must be available for 6 months starting this summer and must be registered as a full time student in a French university or engineering school. Working language will be English.

Objectives

During the development cycle of a product, the performance of multiple versions of the design will be evaluated. At the beginning of the cycle, models will be coarse, sometime re-using some portion of the previous product, while at the end of the cycle, higher fidelity models will be built. Comparing the performances of the different versions can be hard, as beyond design variations, finite element meshes will differ, loads will be refined, analysis will be refined.

The objective of the internship will be to help the analyst compare different models, from input data to simulation results. Some simple differences will be based on comparing input to the finite element analysis, comparing discretized geometries and comparing field results in various meshes.

The trainee will rely on our data processing Python toolbox, and will develop new efficient tools in C++.

• Solid background in mathematics
