Job Description

Cause and FX, a rapidly growing VFX studio, is seeking a skilled and passionate Camera TD on a casual, freelance basis to start immediately. The Camera TD will be responsible for deriving accurate 3D camera and object solutions based on specifications, utilizing 3D software to determine coordinates and movements, and developing solutions for 3D camera tracking. They will also need to understand Anamorphic Lenses, follow directions, communicate issues, and maintain consistency with other artists. The role requires organization, collaboration, and proactive communication regarding assigned tasks and targets. Daily time logging and documentation are essential.
Must have:
  • Derive accurate camera & object 3D solutions.

  • Understand Anamorphic Lenses.

  • Flag issues and lack of clarity.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’ve got exciting projects kicking off and are on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Camera TD to start immediately on a casual, freelance basis! If you love tackling technical challenges and want to be part of a dynamic team, this is your chance to jump in and make an impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: 

  • To derive accurate camera & object 3D solutions adhering to all provided camera & subject specifications (focal length, film back, lens distortion, rolling shutter etc).
  • To use relevant 3D software to work out the co-ordinates and movement of the physical camera and / or objects in a live action shot.
  • To be able to develop solutions for the tracking of 3D cameras and solve problems that may arise.
  • To understand Anamorphic Lenses for the creation of undistorting/re-distorting of plates.
  • To be able to follow direction and take ownership of your tasks.
  • To be able to confidently flag when there are issues and lack of clarity of your tasks informing relevant supervisors and production managers.
  • To be conscious of continuity between scenes/shots when working with other Camera TDs & Layout artists with the same project, sequence, assets etc.
  • To organize your time, collaborate, and effectively communicate with your supervisors and teammates.
  • To be accountable for assigned task targets and be proactive in communication related to the assigned targets.
  • To actively maintain all required documentation including time logging on a daily basis.
