Job Description
thatgamecompany is seeking a Community Manager to join our Japanese Community Management team. The ideal candidate for this position is bilingual, and has experience working in community management or comparable disciplines. This person should have experience executing in-person events, pitching and developing social media content, and a passion for being a public facing personality.
This position reports into the Global Head of Community.
Responsibilities
- Build Japan’s Sky Assemblies strategy
- Host in-person Sky Assemblies events in Japan
- Manage communications with JP Sky Assemblies community hosts
- Support in-person activations at tradeshows
- Pitch original content for Sky’s Japanese social media channels
- Collaborate with Japanese content creators to source and develop content
- Partner with JP Branding on initiatives
- Represent JP players at meetings with Sky’s development team
- Participate in and develop livestream and podcast content for Japanese players
- Provide support for thatskyshop’s in-person Japanese initiatives
- Educate the studio on trends and challenges in Japan
- Attend business meetings in Tokyo, among other cities
- Host in-person Sky Assemblies in Tokyo, among other cities
Must Haves
- Experience working in-person events
- High proficiency in written and spoken Japanese
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- A deep understanding of thatgamecompany’s core values and vision
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- A self-starter mindset
Nice to Haves
- Basic editing knowledge of Photoshop
- Deep experience playing Sky: Children of the Light
- Experience playing other free-to-play games
- Background in live events
- Proficient in English

The salary range for this position is $70,000 USD to $75,000 USD annually, with the
opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and
the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
