Job Description

The Culling Operator in Team A will be responsible for inspecting wafer images, analyzing them to identify defects while maintaining Coherent Quality Standards. They will verify product compliance with customer specifications, communicate findings, and support the Lead Culling team to meet deadlines. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment such as Wafer Presenters, Bright Light Stations, and Wafer Sorter Machines. The operator must follow instructions, suggest improvements, and handle multiple priorities. They will also need to adhere to safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities, and contribute to the company's ICARE values, focusing on integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect, and enthusiasm.
Must have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of production experience in semiconductor processing (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures closely.
  • Experience with networked PC based computer systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the inspection of wafer images, analyzing the images to qualitatively identify wafer defects while maintaining Coherent Quality Standards
  • Verify product is within customer specifications and communicate findings effectively and timely
  • Take direction from and support Lead Culling team to fulfil customer orders by communicated deadline 
  • Responsible for the operation and light maintenance of equipment including, Wafer Presenters,

Bright Light Stations, and Wafer Sorter Machines.

Experience/Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of production experience in semiconductor processing (Preferred) 
  • Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities.
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution.
  • Experience with precision measurement methods and systems.
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications and process procedures
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, and competency
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (spreadsheets, Email, MRP systems)

Working Conditions

  • Cleanroom working conditions.
  • Closed toe shoes required.

Physical Requirements

  • Good hand dexterity.
  • Ability to lift 50 lb.
  • Ability to wear PPE for duration of scheduled shift

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corporate standards.
