Job Description

This Customer Engineer role at Google Cloud in Seoul, South Korea, requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 6+ years of experience in infrastructure modernization. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical blockers, providing machine learning expertise to customers, demonstrating Google Cloud product integrations, recommending integration strategies, and traveling to customer sites and events. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, and various cloud-native technologies. Fluency in Korean is mandatory for this customer-facing role.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent
6+ years experience in infrastructure modernization
Cloud migration & data center migration experience
Fluent Korean communication
Work with customers to resolve technical issues
Develop and deliver technical presentations

Good to have:

Master's degree in CS or related field
Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
CI/CD experience (Jenkins, Spinnaker)
Experience with Data & Analytics technologies (BigQuery, Looker)
Experience with modern application development technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in planning infrastructure modernization as a technical consultant, technical pre-sales engineer, or enterprise architect.
Experience in cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, virtualization, application/servers assessment, or discovery.
Ability to communicate in Korean fluently to interact in this customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience with containers/associated technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Serverless, and Microservices).
Experience with cloud-native software development methodologies and tools to support application development/deployment stages (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Concourse).
Experience with Modern Application Development technologies including CI/CD, Ant, Maven, Gradle, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Saltstack and Terraform, and with Networking Technologies including software defined networks, DNS, Software Load Balancers, Network Authentication, and Identity Management.
Experience with Data and Analytics technology/product/solution (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, etc.).

Responsibilities

Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Provide machine learning expertise to support the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
