At Vercel, our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products and that goes hand in hand with creating an environment where you can do the best work of your life.

About the role:

We are hiring a Developer Experience (DX) Engineer to help maintain and enhance the Next.js documentation site.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building with Next.js, even if they’re not an expert, and is passionate about writing and teaching others. You will help triage community issues, update and maintain documentation, and act as a public advocate for Next.js.

When applying, please include a writing sample that showcases your ability to explain technical concepts. This could be a blog post, tutorial, or documentation you’ve created. Applications without a writing sample will not be considered.

What you will do:

  • Maintain and update the Next.js documentation site content and codebase
  • Be a public builder - creating examples, demos and tutorials to teach developers about Next.js features and best practices.
  • Act as “customer zero” by ensuring documentation is aligned with real-world developer needs
  • Triage and address community issues related to the documentation
  • Review and refine documentation for clarity, technical accuracy, and adherence to the style guide
  • Collaborate with the Next.js core team to ensure the documentation accurately reflects and supports core features and real-world use cases.

About you:

  • You have experience building with Next.js, and while you don’t need to be an expert, you’re comfortable using it and can provide examples of your work.
  • You enjoy writing and have demonstrated this through blog posts, tutorials, or other forms of technical writing.
  • You have experience with frontend tools like TypeScript, MDX, Markdown, and Git.
  • You are passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others learn.

Benefits:

  • Inclusive Healthcare Package
  • Flexible and remote-friendly
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills
  • Unlimited PTO - 4 weeks recommended per year. Take time when you need it.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $115,000 -$170,000. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience, and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
