The Evening Move-Add-Change (MAC) Engineer will be responsible for making seamless changes and improvements to desktop trading floor landscapes. The role involves providing technology support and executing infrastructure projects without disrupting daily work. Responsibilities include PC setups, asset management, procurement, user onboarding, desktop technology relocation, and infrastructure expansion. The engineer will also develop and roll out new technology, manage projects, and work with vendors. This role requires hands-on work, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
Must have:
  • Experience executing technical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with contractors/third-party vendors.
  • Comfortable using project planning tools (e.g., Jira, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Excel).
  • Knowledgeable about computer hardware, peripherals, and networking.
  • Highly organized self-starter with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Reliable, courteous, and flexible team player with a “customer first” mentality.
  • Strong communicator with great people skills.
  • Able to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working evening hours and some weekends.
Good to have:
  • Experience with programming or scripting for the Windows platform (especially PowerShell).

About the Position

We are looking for an evening shift Move-Add-Change (MAC) Engineer to help our IT Operations team make seamless changes and improvements to our desktop trading floor landscapes. This is a full-time role for evening hours only. 

Technology is central to our firm, and you’ll help us find ways to provide technology support and execute infrastructure projects without disrupting our daily work or trading. Doing this correctly will involve using automated tooling to ensure efficiency, and maximizing evening work hours to fit around the constraints of our business. It will also require you to be familiar with the different types of technology on the trading floor and interested in how they fit into the larger operations of our firm. 

In this hands-on role, you’ll work to deliver several types of requests, including PC setups and deployments for end users, asset management, procurement, user onboarding, desktop technology relocation, and infrastructure expansion projects. You will participate in the development and rollout of new technology to our end users, and have the opportunity to develop both your technical acumen and project management experience. You will also work closely with vendors and service providers to ensure the quality of service they're providing matches our world-class expectations.

This role will require you to perform some physical labor, including lifting things up to 40 lbs.

About You

  • Have hands-on experience executing technical infrastructure projects
  • Experienced working with contactors and/or third party vendors
  • Comfortable using project planning tools (e.g., Jira, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Excel)
  • Deeply knowledgeable about computer hardware, peripherals, and networking, and interested in further developing your skills in desktop technology and infrastructure
  • Highly organized self-starter with exceptional attention to detail 
  • Reliable, courteous, and flexible team player with a “customer first” mentality
  • Strong communicator with great people skills; able to describe complex problems with brevity and accuracy
  • Able to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working evening hours and some weekends
  • Experience with programming or scripting for the Windows platform (especially PowerShell) is a bonus
