Job Description

As an Expert Engineer, Graphics, you will be part of the Central Tech Graphics R&D team, researching the future of game graphics, specifically the light-baking architecture of Call of Duty titles. Your responsibilities will include working on render architecture, systems programming, GPU microcode, ray-tracing, and artist-oriented workflow and tooling. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, participate in learning and development, and provide support by investigating issues, solving technical problems, and assisting artists. This role requires expertise in CPU-based lighting precomputation and its connections with the pipeline and game engine.
Must have:
  • 12+ years of experience in C/C++ programming, including debugging and optimization
  • Strong understanding of 3D mathematics and its application in graphics development.
  • Expertise in graphics-related areas such as offline or real-time rendering, parallel processing, or systems optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-threading and performance optimization for rendering or systems.
  • Ability to tackle complex technical challenges with innovative and efficient solutions.

Job Description:

Your Mission

Join our Central Tech Graphics R&D team and help them research the future of our game graphics. You will work on all things related to the light-baking architecture of our Call of Duty® titles, including problems within render architecture, systems programming, GPU microcode, ray-tracing, and artist-oriented workflow and tooling. Collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry. Participate in learning and development tech talks to understand how our employees come together to launch AAA games.

What you bring to the table

The videogame industry and therefore our business is fast-paced and will continue to evolve. As such, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be changed as directed by the Company at any time to promote and support our business and relationships with industry partners. This role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • The position is centered around CPU-based lighting precomputation, as well as the various connections of this software solution with the rest of the pipeline and the game engine.
  • Effectively navigate an extensive code base and produce surgical changes.
  • Workflow and tooling are additional areas of focus to empower our artists and improve their iteration time and creative output.
  • There is also a dedication to production support such as quickly investigating issues, solving minute technical problems and providing bug fixes, as well as consistently helping and advising artists in technical matters.

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
