Job Description

This Financial Analyst role is within the fee accounting team, which is part of Managed Services. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of client financials for public housing authorities. Responsibilities include data entry, bank reconciliations, communication with fee accountants, and report compilation. The role is aligned with partial US hours, requiring work from 12:00 to 20:30 SAST. The role offers a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home and is based in the Cape Town office.
Must have:
  • Knowledge/experience in financial and/or accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Effective communication with accountants and management, orally or written.
  • Ability to work independently and under deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • High degree of dependability, motivation and flexibility.
  • High School diploma or GED, Associate's degree a plus.

We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the Cape Town office. 

This role is in our fee accounting team which is a part of Managed Services. Our team is responsible for the fee accounting for public housing authorities. We play a crucial role in ensuring the clients' financials are accurate and timely.

We work in a matrixed environment, and you will work with in-region leadership as well as leaders and accountants in the US. The role is aligned to partial US hours so you will be working 12:00 – 20:30 SAST.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data entry - keying checks into Housing Manager or MRI software
  • Data entry - keying budgets into Housing Manager or MRI software
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Recording the receipt of client documents through file sharing service (Sharefile)
  • Communicating receipt of client documents to fee accountants in Client’s software
  • Recording the completion of client monthly financial statements in software
  • Compile daily reports for managers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Financial and/or accounting principles knowledge / experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively with accountants and management through oral or written communication
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities
  • A high degree of dependability, motivation and flexibility
  • High School diploma or GED, Associate's degree a plus
