As a Fullstack Senior Software Engineer on the Search Content Platform (SCP) team at Google, you'll contribute to a fundamental part of Google Search. Responsibilities include writing and testing code, participating in design reviews, reviewing code from peers, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. SCP merges various data sources to create a refined content platform, impacting billions of users globally. You'll work on complex engineering challenges and contribute to a universally accessible search experience. The role requires significant experience in full-stack development, software design, and testing, with a focus on delivering high-quality search experiences.
Must have:
  • 5+ years software development experience
  • 3+ years front-end framework experience
  • 3+ years full-stack or API development
  • Experience with testing, maintaining, launching software
  • Proficient in data structures and algorithms
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in CS or related field
  • Technical leadership experience
  • Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or API development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
