We are looking for a Game Designer (Writer) to join the team! This is a full-time, contract, remote position (in the US).


Develop original treatments, stories, scripts, and dialogue for game projects, providing a positive and lasting impact on people's lives by writing compelling stories and by modeling great collaboration.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with Creative Director, story team, and other production members to develop characters, plot, and key storytelling moments.
  • Write scripts for games with emphasis on complete description of scenes and characters (camera moves, facial expressions, sets, lighting, etc.).
  • Write scripts for real-time and cinematics sequences, and coordinate with various groups to get them implemented.
  • Participate in writer’s room sessions for brainstorming, story development, and narrative problem solving.
  • Regularly review scripts by other writers and give thoughtful feedback.
  • Provide notes and feedback to other production departments to shape and hone the expression of story.
  • Respond to notes from and work closely with brand and publishing partners to achieve story goals.
  • Write a variety of dialogue for AI and emergent gameplay events.
  • Work closely with the production team to create and implement in-game moments to reinforce the story arc.
  • Write game trailers and other extraneous projects as necessary (examples: marketing pieces, web content, etc.).
  • Assist in writing all text and dialogue in game (menus, descriptions, etc.).
  • Maintain schedule and scope during various stages of production.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of resource limitations and work closely with other production departments to find elegant solutions to complex story problems.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience writing and designing video games is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
  • Shipped a AAA game in a writing role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows Office Suite. Photoshop and Illustrator is preferred.
  • A passion for games and game narratives is required.


Details:

  • This is a full-time, contract, remote position (in the US).
  • Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST.
  • Location: Remote in the US.
  • Pay: $57.91 - $63.17 (BOE)
  • This is a W-2 position. No B2C/C2C. No sponsorship.
