Job Description

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python code under the guidance of senior engineers. You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment. The role requires writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code, collaborating with team members, and adapting to new technologies. You will also participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the overall success of the engineering team. This role is for a 12-month fixed term contract.
Must have:
  • Strong understanding of Python programming.
  • Familiarity with core Python libraries and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and improve.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Kubernetes and AWS technologies.
  • Exposure to testing frameworks such as Pytest or UnitTest.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Personal projects demonstrating your Python skills.
  • Relevant coursework or internships.

We are looking for a talented and driven Graduate Software Engineer with strong proficiency in Python to join our innovative development team. As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to develop, test, and maintain web applications and solutions. 

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python code under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, including senior engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices quickly.
  • Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with support from senior engineers.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the engineering team.

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:  

  • Strong understanding of Python programming and familiarity with its core libraries and frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
  • Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
