At Valve, we are pushing the boundaries of hardware gaming experiences. We are looking for a versatile, self-driven Senior Sourcing Engineers to help contribute to vendor relationship management for categories such as Packaging materials, cables and connectors, thermals, mechanicals, etc.

At Valve, Hardware Sourcing and Supply Chain Managers help deliver world class hardware products, such as Steam Deck, Valve Index, and Steam Controller. We hire people with broad skill sets who also exhibit deep expertise. The Hardware business team at Valve contributes in a wide variety of ways including executing Non-Disclosure Agreements, RFQs, Part purchase and supply agreements, and other related contracts. We monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with the Design teams to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges for the components. We manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews. We participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners; participate in Design for Manufacturability reviews with Engineering partners and prospective suppliers, and drive decisions from a cost and supply perspective. We communicate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with management teams. We help resolve Continuity of Supply issues, drive material planning with the goals of meeting forecast flexibility and mitigate E&O liability

Our team includes individuals with expertise in the following areas:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Operational Engineering
  • Experience in supply chain management, or commodity management related to a Mass produced consumer electronics device
  • Experience in managing external partners and vendor relationships
  • Experience using tools including PowerBI, Tableau, Arena BOM management (or other BOM Management tools), and MS Office
  • Experience in continuity of supply or clear to build management for capacity planning wrt forecasts
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should costs based on the understanding of manufacturing process
  • Experience in contract management and negotiations
  • Experience using QuickBooks (or similar ERP accounting software)

The position is full-time, with Valve Corporation located in Bellevue, Washington.
