Job Title: Commercial Excellence Head

Location: Shanghai, China
Reports to: GM
, Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong

About the Role: The Commercial Excellence Head will be based in Shanghai, leading a team of over 40 with the support of 5-6 direct reports.

This role is pivotal in driving the commercial strategy for Haleon in China, ensuring alignment with both the broader APAC strategy and the company's overall business goals to ensure Haleon overall commercial excellence to win in China.

  • Responsible for leading strategic capability development including functional, organization and infrastructure capabilities in all sales operations in China market, aligned to regional strategic direction and long-term organizational and business needs to ensure Best in Class Sales Team.
  • Sit in China Leadership Team and APAC Commercial Excellence Leadership Team as a core member to lead and drive China commercial excellence strategy and build strong partnerships across the wider APAC Commercial Excellence team to influence and improve the way we operate in the future.

Key responsibility:

Sales Force Effectiveness:

  • Partnering with Haleon China Leadership team to enhance competitiveness by optimizing sales force effectiveness.
  • Oversight of sales performance and incentive governance model to ensure the right processes are in place.
  • Developing and executing sales target allocation and incentive schemes to boost sales force performance and drive results.

Net Revenue Management (NRM):

Driving Net Revenue Management (NRM) to be a key top line and profit contributor to ensure sustainable business growth and long-term success.

Capability Building

  • Designing and developing a Sales Capability Framework to strengthen sales fundamentals and enhance capabilities across all Channels to support the development of best-in-class sales team.
  • Crafting a countrywide training and development plan aligned with business priorities and future oriented organizational capability building.

Sales Operation Excellence

  • Enhance operational excellence by developing and implementing comprehensive sales processes, tools, and technologies across all channels.
  • Establish robust commercial processes and controls to maintain market integrity, covering key areas such as distributor operations, account receivables, inventory management, and trade promotion execution.
  • Further, invest in best-in-class sales systems and processes to propel business growth efficiently and effective.
  • Continuously monitor and identify potential risks across all commercial activities and process. Drive continuous improvement in risk management, learning from past experiences and staying updated on best practices.

Route to Market

  • Designing and Driving overall Route to Market strategy and implementation across markets.

Customer Experience

  • Creating a customer-centric approach and broad adoption of value excellence into business practice through optimizing the shopper science lab based on deep shopper insights to expand category penetration.

Team Leadership

  • Leading a diverse team of talent across SFE, Business Intelligence and Sales Operation, Net Revenue Management, Commercial Capability, Business Operation and Risk Management functions.
  • Driving collaboration within the team, across Haleon China business categories and functions, and across the region to deliver on strategies.
  • Empowering team members to excel in their roles and advocate for their career growth and development.
