Job Description

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a vital role in managing and optimizing the use of the ERP system, including providing insights into the ERP system's application and identifying business process changes. They monitor information accuracy, authorize change requests, act as a client for system modifications, and represent their functional area in discussions. They also identify opportunities to enhance the ERP system's effectiveness, coordinate deployment activities, keep users informed, and maintain alignment with the IS/IT-ERP team. The SME also participates in the SME network and ensures effective communication within the supply chain. Collaborate with multi-functional teams in InCIght root-cause problem solving activities.
Must have:
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in ERP and processes
  • Knowledge of an ERP environment (preference is Oracle)
  • Knowledge of PLM processes
  • Capable to manage topics to closure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dutch and English mandatory
  • Pro-active, accurate and solution oriented

About the team
The Naval Industry team is responsible and accountable for the on-time production and delivery of the Thales Naval products within in cost and first-time right. To realize this the Naval Industry team is strongly and closely cooperating with the other departments (e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Product Segments) within Thales Naval. As Thales Naval we foster a strong growth in demand to our products and to secure this growth the Industry has to minimize the downtime and maximize the utilization of their equipment to support the production. For that reason, we are looking for a Subject Matter Expert Oracle

About your future job

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a vital role in managing and optimizing the use of the ERP system. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing insights into the ERP system's application and identifying business process changes that affect its functionality.
  • Monitoring the accuracy and maintenance of critical information, including personnel and organizational data.
  • Holding the authority to make decisions regarding the ERP system's usage within their functional area.
  • Ensuring the proper utilization of the ERP system to meet operational needs.
  • Authorizing and spearheading change requests related to the information system.
  • Submitting change requests to the Information Systems/Information Technology (IS/IT) team specific to their functional domain.
  • Acting as a client for testing and accepting system modifications.
  • Representing their functional area in discussions surrounding cross-domain changes.
  • Identifying and advocating for opportunities to enhance the ERP system's effectiveness.
  • Coordinating and supporting deployment activities in collaboration with process owners.
  • Keeping key users of Oracle informed about the progress of changes and improvements.
  • Maintaining alignment with the IS/IT-ERP team and serving as the primary point of contact for ERP-related queries.
  • Participating in the SME network across various disciplines beyond the supply chain to ensure cohesive end-to-end processes.
  • Ensuring effective bi-directional communication and information sharing within the supply chain, working closely with other key users.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in InCIght root-cause problem solving activities.
