Lead Automation QA Engineer (Mobile) – The Role:
We're seeking a candidate experienced in developing and maintaining Automated Tests for Mobile apps, Services, and Native apps using tools like Appium. They should also have expertise in BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Behave and possess a solid understanding of design principles and clean test code writing. Proficiency in Espresso, Kotlin, Java, or Python for test solutions development is required, along with familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Leadership skills are essential for leading a team of QA engineers. Responsibilities include designing and implementing QA automation architecture, defining best practices, and collaborating with teams to develop and maintain automated functional and regression tests. The candidate should ensure defects are raised using tools like Jira and raise any compliance issues to the test manager. They must understand the software development lifecycle and testing processes.
Lead Automation QA Engineer (Mobile) – Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor junior members of the team and guide them towards best practices
- Provide best QA solutions to the team and ensure the implementation of them
- Maintain & improve the automated test framework.
- Create new automated tests & investigate test failures.
- Triaging discovered defects with the product owner and team
- Write automated tests following BDD framework & provide input to the developers for unit level tests
- Investigate any defects reported by stakeholders / end users & support the team to find the root cause & get the right fixes
- Perform manual / exploratory testing against new features
- Work closely with the team to sign-off on the quality of new releases following the Agile release pattern
- Attend team retrospectives & workshops to ensure continual improvements
- Define & add new test cases into different automated test packs. Capture test results & defects
- Understand business requirements & processes to define test plans with continuous review of scope & testability of all requirements
- Provide test estimations & testing approach to the PO and team.
Lead Automation QA Engineer (Mobile) – You:
- Bright, highly self-motivated and driven with a professional and positive approach.
- Ability to work independently, mentor & collaborate with team members.
- Experienced in Mobile, Native Apps & API testing framework such as rest assured
- Experienced in programming languages (Espresso / Kotlin /Java/ Python)
- Experienced using Behave / Cucumber to write test cases in feature files by using gherkin language
- Experienced in CI tools (Jenkins, Gitlab Pipelines) from testing configuration aspect
- Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently, mentor & collaborate with team members
- Passionate about software test development, with a general thirst for technology & interest in new testing tools & methodologies.
