The Lead Controls Consultant supports a team of Control Service Specialists to ensure accurate and efficient completion of processes and transactions. This role drives improvement and transformation activities within the Financial Services Organization and the wider business. Responsibilities include advising on day-to-day work activities, setting priorities, coordinating audit activities, maintaining accurate information, preparing reports, suggesting process improvements, and ensuring adherence to reporting and regulatory requirements.
Must have:
  • Experience in compliance and/or finance operations (5+ years)
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory & compliance requirements
Good to have:
  • Supervisory knowledge, skills & experience

Job Details

Supports a team of Control Service Specialist (Formerly Compliance Team) to ensure that processes and transactions are completed accurately and efficiently, drives improvement and transformation activities for the benefit of Financial Services Organisation and wider business

Role Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Advises the day to day work activities for Control Service Specialists, including training new joiners
- Sets priorities to ensure task completion and contributes to the motivation and development of the team;
- Sets priorities to meet deadlines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives
- Complete, coordinate and assists with all vital control operation and audit activities to deliver accurate and effective execution of control framework information
- Processes and files control evidences and ensure that appropriate records are accurately maintained
- Acts as a point of contact for queries or disputes
- Applies a wide range of policies or standards in straightforward and more complicated situations
- Maintains accurate information and keeps policies and procedures up-to-date following feedback
- Prepares and provides reports and other updates for various partners
- Supports Reporting Analyst for defining new control reports & dashboards
- Decisions involve interpretation of data, planning own work, or refining the methods and techniques to be used
- Identifies and resolves standard technical and operational problems
- Suggests process improvements & drives transformation activities, i.e. automation, efficiency gains, standardization
- Monitors training, education and proficiency requirements.
- Supports and drives process and controls review and designs new controls & processes; ensures correctness and completeness of process and control documentation
- Actively supports and coordinates any work related to audit; actively participates in meetings with auditors - both internal and external and provides his expertise.
- Ensures adherence to reporting and regulatory requirements
- Ensures processes are followed in a timely manner and in line with agreed terms
- Works with various partners to ensure compliance goals, KPIs and SLAs are met

Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant degree or professional qualification
- Experience in working and knowledge of compliance and/or finance operations (5+ years)
- Supervisory knowledge, skills & experience (will be a bonus)
- Good understanding of relationships between functions within the company
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory & compliance requirements, and business requirements
- Experience in resolving a wide range of issues
- Intermediate MS Excel & other MS Suites knowledge
- Attention to detail
- Ability to Prioritize
