This role, reporting to the Director of FP&A and Financial Control for FTSE Russell, provides exposure across financial control for the FTSE Russell division and its globally dispersed legal entities. The role leads all aspects of divisional financial control, board reporting, and financial regulatory oversight. Key responsibilities include managing a team of financial controllers, ensuring accurate month-end close, performing analytical review procedures, monthly management reporting with variance analysis, maintaining relationships with internal customers, and involvement in transformation projects. The role also involves leading audits and supporting the division's FP&A team.
Must have:
  • Relevant professional qualification with a minimum of 8 years PQE
  • Extensive experience in financial control and industry-leading financial control processes
  • Management experience and experience in forming positive relationships
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong focus on collaborating with colleagues and a positive work ethic
  • Experience leading through transformation / change
  • Dedicated, self-motivated with a positive demeanour and an accountability approach

Description

An exciting opportunity, reporting to the Director of FP&A and Financial Control for FTSE Russell, this role will provide exposure across financial control for the FTSE Russell division and it's globally dispersed legal entities. The role leads all aspects of divisional financial control, board reporting and financial regulatory oversite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of financial controllers and work closely with colleagues in various global teams (Billing, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Credit Control etc)
  • Ensure accurate month end close of FTSE Russell legal entities in compliance with internal and external reporting standards, policies and internal controls.
  • Perform and coordinate the month end analytical review procedures to gain assurance over the entity Balance Sheets and Income Statements before period close.
  • Monthly management reporting of divisional and legal entity results with variance analysis to report to finance and business colleagues.
  • Quarterly results reporting for the division and analysis of the significant year on year movements to support the LSEG Group published results.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all internal customers, keeping up to date on business developments and providing financial insights as appropriate.
  • Works closely with the Divisional CFO, Finance Business Partnering leads, business managers, product leads and Compliance teams.
  • Supports the division's FP&A team with financial information and analysis through monthly budget and forecast comparisons to actual results.
  • Critically evaluates and evolves systems, policies, and processes and drives standardisation, automation and operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Involvement in transformation projects including Oracle system implementations and new business initiatives.
  • Leads the audits by coordinating audit requests and maintaining the relationship with the audit teams.

Technical/Professional Skills & Proficiencies:

Essential skills
