Lead VFX Artist

Lighthouse Games is a new AAA studio in Leamington Spa, driven by a mission to redefine gaming experiences with a dedicated team of talented individuals. As a Lead VFX Artist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual effects and immersive elements of our upcoming project.

In this position, you will spearhead the VFX team, ensuring that all visual effects enhance gameplay and contribute to the overall aesthetic and emotional impact of our games. You'll be responsible for creating high-quality visual effects that are not only breathtaking but also serve to engage the player on a deeper level. Collaborating closely with the Art Director, Game Designers, and Technical Artists, you will establish a creative vision that aligns with our goals while mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.

Your expertise will guide the development of pipeline efficiencies, enabling us to integrate VFX assets seamlessly into Unreal Engine 5. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead a passionate team in a studio that values creativity and innovation, shaping the future of our game and, ultimately, the gaming industry.

• Strong portfolio showcasing previous VFX work (ideally real-world effects: rain, smoke, dust clouds, fire etc.)
• Experience as a Lead VFX Artist on shipped game titles
• Proficient in visual effects authoring tools, particularly within Unreal Engine
• Solid understanding of optimisation techniques for VFX in real-time environments
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding and inspiring a team
• Familiarity with pipeline processes and collaboration across disciplines
• Ability to conceptualise and execute compelling visual effects that elevate gameplay

• Experience with Niagara and Houdini for VFX creation
