Job Description

As a Technical Artist in Voodoo's Portfolio Games studio, you'll be responsible for creating, optimizing, and implementing visually stunning visual effects and shaders for mobile platforms. You'll develop and maintain efficient art and animation pipelines, optimize asset workflows, and integrate assets within Unity. This role involves building and maintaining tools and automation processes, contributing to cross-discipline discussions, and collaborating with artists, engineers, and designers. You'll focus on high-performance optimization for mobile devices, addressing memory constraints and rendering bottlenecks. The role requires proficiency in C#, Python, or other scripting languages and expertise in Unity's rendering pipeline, shader programming, and GPU optimization techniques. Experience with profiling tools is essential.

You will be joining one of our Live Studios, working in our Portfolio games studio.

Role

    • Create, optimize, and implement visually stunning visual effects and shaders, ensuring high performance on mobile platforms.
    • Develop and maintain efficient art and animation pipelines, optimizing asset workflows to support smooth team collaboration.
    • Integrate and optimize assets within Unity, delivering seamless gameplay experiences across various mobile devices.
    • Build and maintain tools, scripts, and automation processes to streamline workflows, enabling faster iteration for art and development teams.
    • Contribute actively to cross-discipline discussions, providing feedback and ideas that elevate the game’s quality and align with its overall vision. Collaborate closely with artists, engineers, and designers to achieve a cohesive and polished final product.

Profile

    • Proficiency in C#, Python, or other relevant scripting languages for developing custom tools and automation pipelines.
    • Experience working with Unity’s rendering pipeline (URP/HDRP), shader programming (HLSL/Shader Graph), and GPU performance optimization techniques.
    • Understanding of mobile hardware limitations, including memory constraints, rendering bottlenecks, and best practices for reducing draw calls and optimizing game performance.
    • Hands-on experience with profiling tools (e.g., Unity Profiler, RenderDoc) to identify and resolve performance issues.
    • Experience with animation rigging, procedural animation techniques, or character setup (e.g., Unity’s Animation Rigging package, Mecanim, or Spine) is a plus
