The Email Marketing Manager will manage and execute external email communications, implement B2B email marketing strategies, and drive engagement and conversions. Responsibilities include developing email marketing strategies, managing the email process, implementing nurture programs, promoting content, building programs for events, collaborating with teams, segmenting and targeting lists, designing templates, monitoring metrics, conducting A/B tests, providing training, and ensuring compliance. The position requires 5+ years of experience in email marketing, including 3+ years of experience in Marketo. This position is temporary and part-time.

Job Description:

Role Purpose: The Email Marketing Manager role entails managing and executing Merkle's external email communications, implementing effective B2B email marketing strategies, driving engagement and conversions, and owning email reporting. The Email Marketing Manager will continuously enhance the program through email and automation best practices, requiring a strong understanding of Merkle's business. Additionally, this position will need to leverage expertise in Marketo and Pardot, acting as a technical consultant to the marketing team during strategic planning discussions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies to support business goals and objectives

  • Manage the end-to-end email marketing process, including planning, working with creative and content on email direction, creation, testing, deployment, and performance tracking

  • Implement and optimize email nurture programs to drive lead generation and prospect engagement. 

  • Promote key marketing content in email newsletters that is tailored and optimized for target audiences, aiming to drive engagement and client retention. 

  • Build and manage email programs for events, ensuring timely execution with tight deadlines and the ability to quickly pivot direction based on event changes

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing Operations, Content, and Creative

  • Segment and target email lists based on various criteria, including buyer personas, customer segments, and behavioral data

  • Design and create compelling email templates that adhere to brand guidelines and best practices for optimal user experience and engagement. 

  • Monitor and analyze key email marketing metrics and KPIs to identify trends, measure campaign effectiveness, and provide actionable insights to improve performance

  • Conduct A/B tests and implement data-driven optimization strategies to continuously improve email deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, and conversions

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on email marketing best practices, automation platforms, and tools

  • Maintain a deep understanding of our target audience, customer journey, and competitive landscape to drive effective segmentation and personalized email experiences

  • Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations, privacy laws, and best practices for data protection

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing required

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working directly in Marketo required

  • Strong knowledge of Pardot and Salesforce required 

  • Experience with HTML/CSS preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with frequent reporting and optimizations 

  • Understanding of lead management processes

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and a quality-oriented approach are essential

  • Excellent communication and project management skills

  • A results-driven mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions 

  • Experience in the B2B industry is a plus

The hourly pay range for this position is $    32.69 $   53.08. The hourly pay rate for the successful candidate is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid holidays in accordance with dentsu policy, as well as safe and sick time. This position is not eligible for any other benefits or other compensation.
