Job Summary

The Budget Manager is instrumental in maximizing budgeting and spending efficiency for various marketing teams. In addition to budget management and analysis, the Budget Manager will assist in the planning and implementation of strategies to achieve key business objectives. Partner with the Marketing teams to achieve budget excellence in execution.

Job Responsibilitis

  • Inform Marketing team members of mandatory quarterly timelines and due dates. Provide training on budget management process and best practices.
  • Review proposed budget submissions for accuracy, completeness and acting as an advisor to department managers in formulating their budget submissions.
  • Manage the Budget Tool to confirm submissions and subsequent spend are categorized accurately, identify potential problem areas and ensure submissions align with corporate goals, strategies and legal regulations. Recommend actions to management to ensure conformance to budgetary limits and strategy.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and budget tracking sheets, providing timely, accurate reporting and analysis on a scheduled basis. Provide ad-hoc analyses and reports based on request.
  • Update the budget model as requested to account for significant changes in the business environment.
  • Reconcile all transactions; partner with finance to ensure accurate accruals and close process. Prepare journal entries using proper accounting treatment.
  • Track and analyze actual results against historical, budgeted and forecasted results.
  • Review Statements of Work for accuracy and create POs. Track corresponding invoices and research payment info as required.
  • Partner with Global Sourcing, Finance, Legal and other internal teams on supplier spend review, process updates and other areas as needed.
  • Participate in tool development/updates for AOP, budget tracking, PO requests, etc

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role
  • Understanding of budgeting and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Independent worker with excellent mathematical ability and an analytical mind
  • Must have effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership
  • Attention to detail and good organization skills is a must
