As a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for design for manufacturability/assembly and design for cost analyses for sheet metal (e.g., soft tool), plastic injection molded, metal stamped (e.g., hard tool), and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies. You will also identify and qualify contract manufacturers/vendors for precision sheet metal, high-volume metal stamping, plastic injection molding, tooling, and level 3 electro-mechanical assemblies. You will provide comprehensive mechanical manufacturing engineering support to global manufacturing partners. You will resolve manufacturing and field issues by escalating design, manufacturing, and product test issues when appropriate. You will drive process improvements that reduce process cycle times/cost, while maintaining quality. You will use the Product Data Management (PDM) system to create and maintain bills of materials, approved vendor lists, and engineering change notifications/orders in support of Google products. You will also use a PDM system to create and maintain Bills of Materials (BoM), Approved Vendor List (AVL) and Engineering change orders.
