We’re currently seeking a News Editorial Copywriter & Editor to join a dynamic editorial team for a prominent provider in web, search engine, entertainment, and email services. This is a remote, 12-month contract position based on the West Coast, with the potential for extension.
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping the editorial voice of a brand that reaches millions of users across multiple digital platforms. As a News Editorial Copywriter & Editor, you’ll craft compelling content, support breaking news coverage, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute content strategies. Key Responsibilities:
- Support breaking news coverage and assignments across desktop, mobile, and social media platforms, including curating content, writing headlines, programming video, and creating push notifications.
- Collaborate with editorial, product, and other teams to support special projects and ensure content aligns with business goals and objectives.
- Execute coverage plans for key events and holidays, promoting brand messages across various content categories such as News, Entertainment, and Sports.
- Monitor and analyze content performance, tracking key metrics to stay ahead of trends and audience interests across multiple platforms.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of editorial experience, including writing or content programming for high-traffic websites.
- Proficiency with web content management systems (CMS) and a strong understanding of SEO and digital media trends.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and attention to detail.
- Experience with AP Style and copy-editing, with the ability to adapt to various content types and formats.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Google Enterprise and a solid understanding of content analytics and optimization.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and have a minimum assignment length of 10 weeks.
