Job Details

Job description

Trackman Baseball (TMBB) is seeking a Product Owner to be a key contributor to the Baseball & Softball Product team. Our baseball and softball tracking portfolio is growing rapidly. This role provides the opportunity to both maintain high quality and drive the growth of these products.

We work with every MLB team, multiple international pro leagues, hundreds of colleges, and all of the top amateur tournaments and facilities. This is an opportunity to work with a true industry leader.

This role’s main responsibility is ensuring the priority, quality and timeliness of development and delivery of tracking features of our Stadium product line. This includes both new and existing features, internal and external features, and maintenance (bug fixes, etc.).

Secondary responsibilities of the role include being a subject matter expert of owned features, and therefore contributing to cross-functional activities like internal training, generation of marketing materials, and coordination during the development process.

  • Work closely with the Product Manager – Tracking to ensure effective short and long-term feature prioritization.

  • Feature definition: Take high-level concepts from internal teams and customers and distill into detailed requirements for R&D and the cross-functional group to execute upon.

  • Drive frontloading process:

    • Ensure feature definition is ready ahead of development and planning meetings.

    • Lead refinement meetings for owned features, documenting open questions and considerations that arise.

    • Follow up with stakeholders to complete requirements, ensuring cross-functional alignment as features advance through development cycle.

    • Coordinate with Product Manager(s), other Product Owner(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure dependencies are handled.

  • Make sure backlog order of development teams reflect the overall program/project priority and allows for other teams to be unblocked.

  • Represent the customer and remain available to development teams to answer business and sport-specific questions.

  • Facilitate Scrum meetings and approve product increments done by development teams.

  • Responsible for timeline of deliverables, including “when and how” to release in relation to other teams and customer needs, via cross-functional collaboration.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on owned features, contributing to cross-functional activities like internal training, generation of marketing materials, and coordination during the development process. This may require working directly with Sales and Support teams.

  • Work closely with Data Quality, Product, and all relevant teams to resolve tracking related issues (data quality, stability, etc.).

    • Facilitate an iterative process with all needed stakeholders to analyze data / define the problem, gather any additional needed information, prioritize within R&D workflow, coordinate soft releases, and repeat as needed to fully resolve the issue.

Some travel required (mainly to United States). Roughly 2-4 weeks per year to visit customers, main Trackman offices and relevant conventions.

    • Software engineering, radar signal processing, computer vision, physics, mathematics, and/or data analysis.

  • Passionate about baseball, especially when it intersects with technology and analysis.
