Job Description

This role is a Production Trainee, responsible for supporting the production team in various tasks. You will take care of the crew, ensuring work is ready and available, chasing progress, and ensuring timely deliveries. You will also assist in maintaining progress reports, distributing them to relevant parties, and taking notes during production meetings. Your responsibilities will also involve assembling, photocopying, and packing storyboards and associated documentation for shipping. You will provide overall general assistance to the Production Coordinator, Production Supervisor, and crew within a specific department. You will have awareness of work in progress, be familiar with daily requirements, and assist in scheduling for the Department Head. Gathering research material, communicating with other departments, and having a general understanding of the pipeline are also key responsibilities. You will be involved in various daily office activities, including scheduling meetings, booking rooms, preparing items for shipment, copying, faxing, filing, typing up notes, distributing timecards, ordering office supplies, running errands, handling travel arrangements, assisting with department moves and set-up, and acting as a secondary contact when supervisors are unavailable. You will also spot-check all renders for dailies. You must maintain a professional demeanor with artists and production and be willing to take on new challenges to gain a more detailed knowledge of the department and pipeline. Production Assistants may progress to become Production Co-ordinators.

Take care of the crew, making sure that work is ready and available for them to begin, chasing progress, ensuring that deliveries are made on time, and checking that the necessary materials, equipment and references are available.

Assist in keeping progress reports up to date, and distributing them to the relevant people.

Taking notes in production meetings

Responsible for assembling, photocopying and packing the storyboards and any associated documentation, for shipping.

Provides overall general assistance to the Production Coordinator, Production Supervisor and crew within a specific department.

Awareness of work in progress in the department.

Familiar with specific day to day requirements for the department.

Assists line producer/Assistant Producer with department calendar and handle the scheduling for the Department Head.

Responsible for gathering research material specific to the department.

Communicates with other departments regarding department needs.

General understanding of the pipeline.

Responsible for various daily office activities: schedules meetings, books rooms, prepares items for shipment, copies, faxes, files, types up notes and distributes accordingly, distributes and collects timecards for the department, orders office supplies, runs errands and handles travel arrangements.

Assists with moves and set-up for the department.

Acts as a secondary contact for questions when the Production Supervisor and/or Production Coordinator are unavailable.

Spot-checks all renders for dailies.

Maintains a professional demeanor with artists and production.

Willing to take on new challenges in order to have a more detailed knowledge of the department and pipeline.

Production Assistants may progress to become Production Co-coordinators
