Job Description

Starkflow is seeking a skilled Senior Backend Developer with strong Rust expertise to join their team. This role involves building and maintaining backend systems, including networking, infrastructure, node software, and client software, while contributing to protocol design. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining backend infrastructure, developing and optimizing APIs, working with blockchain technologies, and collaborating with the team on system architecture and design.

Must have:

Proven experience with Rust and async libraries (Tokio)
Strong understanding of RPC protocols (HTTP, WebSocket)
Backend blockchain development experience (node, client software, infrastructure)
Familiarity with leading Web3 technologies (EVM)
Experience with Rust ecosystem libraries (Diesel, SQLx, SeaORM)

Good to have:

Proficiency in PostgreSQL
Containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
gRPC API implementation & utilization
Observability tools (OpenTelemetry, metrics aggregation)
Peer-to-peer networking concepts (libp2p, DHT)
Cryptographic principles (hash functions, pairing-based cryptography)
AWS & GCP knowledge

On behalf of our client - Starkflow is looking for a strong BACKEND engineer with proven experience with Rust to join the team.

A successful candidate would be working on the backend systems, including networking, infrastructure, node software, and client software while contributing to protocol design.

Work type: Full-time, fully remote

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience with Rust and its async libraries, particularly Tokio.
Strong understanding of RPC protocols, including HTTP and WebSocket APIs.
Familiarity with backend blockchain development, including node and client
software, as well as supporting infrastructure.
Familiarity with leading Web3 technologies, particularly the EVM and its surrounding
ecosystem.

NICE TO HAVES:

Proficiency in PostgreSQL and Rust ecosystem libraries like Diesel, SQLx, and SeaORM
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Familiarity with implementing and utilizing gRPC APIs
Experience with observability tools, specifically OpenTelemetry and metrics aggregation
Understanding of peer-to-peer networking concepts, including libp2p and Distributed Hash Tables (DHT)
Basic knowledge of cryptographic principles, including hash functions and pairing-based cryptography (ECDSA, BLS)
Basic knowledge of AWS and GCP
