Job Description

Senior Business/Data Analyst needed for a Data Catalog program. Responsibilities include accurate effort estimation, functional requirement documentation, internal/external testing (including defect resolution), L3 support, stakeholder relationship building, product demonstrations, release support (release notes & post-production checkouts), and ad-hoc data analysis. The program focuses on a centralized data management platform with metadata management, cloud-based access, self-service data governance, and risk management features. The platform utilizes leading-edge technologies with potential machine learning capabilities.

Project description

Data Catalog program is an initiative to develop a centralized data management platform by bringing together all Group's data sources. The platform intends to contain suite of applications to manage different aspects around Data Governance specially:
• Metadata Management across all applications with heavy focus building data catalog, identifying relationships across metadata, creating and managing tag hierarchies based on business context
• Cloud based offerings to business and application users for accessing data catalog and associated data by creating unified Data Layer on top of all data sources. This will enable data consistency across and will serve an input to superior analytics helping drive business with meaningful insights
• Promote self-service model for managing various aspects of data governance
• Centralize risk management around data and improve regulatory data compliance requirements

The platform has been built on leading edge technologies with the focus on developing potential machine learning and data mining capabilities.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate estimation of effort and duration for new requirements.

Produce and maintain written functional-requirements of the system.

Perform necessary internal regression and User Acceptance Testing (UAT); Support external end-user UAT cycles; Activities will include documenting, prioritizing, and verifying resolution of defects.

Provide third-level (L3) subject matter expertise support to L2 support teams as needed.

Build relationships with end-user groups and CDO product management teams to ease the interpretation and negotiation of business requirements, scoping, and timing.

Introduce new features to end-users and internal colleagues through guided product demonstrations.

Support releases activities including contributing to release notes and performing post-production deployment checkouts.

Perform ad-hoc data analysis queries.

Skills

Must have

6+ years total work experience with a proven track-record of stability and growth.

Strong SQL knowledge.

Rich experience in a technology organization, specifically software development.

Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where fire-drill assignments are not uncommon.

Uses diplomacy to maintain high client satisfaction levels.

Strong communication skills (written and spoken)

Eagerness to engage in thoughtful debate and challenge the status quo.

Organized, and possesses a data and system-driven mindset and approach to work.

Data based project experience(data management systems, data migrations, etc.)

Keen ability to eliminate noise and simplify problems, ideas, and communications.

Puts the project and team as a priority.

Nice to have

-Experience with Data Governance principles including Data Models, Metadata management, Data Lineage, Data Quality
