If so, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer Lead to join and lead our Data Engineering team here in our Games Development Studio in Lisbon (PT). This is a full-time, permanent, ‘hybrid’ working position, with the team collaborating in the studio x3 times a week.

This team is critical to Miniclip’s success delivering on several key services for our mobile games that reach over x65 million players globally every day. To do this, they are dealing with more than x1 Petabyte of data, whilst managing all our own infrastructure across several different business units and Games Studios.

What will you be doing at Miniclip?

• Leading a team of data engineers to deliver best in class data solutions.
• Not only you will be part of designing and implementing solutions with the state-of-the-art tools, but you will also maintain and learn all the existent technologies already used.
• Advise on, design, develop, maintain and optimize our BI/DW solution
• Support the data science/analytics team (and other teams such as UA) ensuring they have all the necessary tools in place to support the growth and success of our games
• Automating reports and data pulls where necessary
• Continually assessing and evolving the engineering resource and operational requirements needed to put in place the chosen solution.
• Work closely with the Product Owners and senior stake holders to design the Technical Architecture needed for data platform to meet the requirements of the proposed solution

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a social, hard-working person who enjoys working in and leading teams and is passionate about games, mobile free-to-play, and is highly skilled with the below:

• Senior Data Engineer with 6+ years in a data engineering role and demonstrable leadership experience.
• Experience in building data warehouse, analytics and BI infrastructure and tools from scratch, which are capable of processing large volumes of data and are scalable for the future.
• Good knowledge and experience working on AWS
• Knowledge of Spark is a plus
• Knowledge of Java, Python, Linux shell scripting, and Procedural PL.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with RDBM’s
• Extensive knowledge of SQL (NoSQL database is a plus)
• Commitment to high-speed iteration, high code quality, and continuous improvement via agile processes, code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
• A natural flair for writing well-structured, object-oriented code and a strong understanding of core computer science (data structures & algorithms)
• Knowledge of version control and build systems; git
• Scientific and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Preferably experience with machine learning
