UPPM is the preeminent supplier of high-level production music throughout the world and serves the burgeoning business that creates, produces, and licenses music for use in film/TV, advertising, broadcast and corporate clients.
UMPG is looking to expand the Global Finance team and hire a Senior Financial Analyst – Global Finance. Key responsibilities in this position focus on owning aspects of the financial analysis of the global publishing results and budgets and delivering summaries of those results to executive management. Other responsibilities include analysis and research into the music/publishing industry and trends in the publishing revenue landscape, as well as analysis of new spend opportunities.
How you'll CREATE:
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of global consolidated financial results for monthly/quarterly actual, forecast and budget reporting. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing results submitted by our global affiliated offices, and utilizing professional skepticism and judgement to ensure the results submitted are accurate and in line with accounting guidance.
Inspect and analyze variances within the financial results to gain a thorough understanding of drivers and outliers with finance partners across the globe. This includes, but is not limited to, a detailed review of the financial statements (P&L and Cash Flow Statement) to identify variances vs. budget and prior year, as well as any items that may require further research (based on the applicable accounting guidance).
Own the preparation of business / variance commentary for global senior management on monthly basis. This includes preparing a monthly report that is provided to executive management detailing the drivers of the global publishing results.
Ownership of finance related aspects of the quarterly global royalty circulation. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing reconciliation data and deciding whether the royalties are fit for circulation. In addition to this reconciliation, this person will own the process of invoicing and arranging payments between exploitation and deal owning countries.
Maintenance and updates of Hyperion Financial Management models related to actual reporting and forecast / budget. This includes annual updates to templates that will be used by our global affiliated offices, as well as enhancing templates used by the global finance team, and creating new ad-hoc reports/templates as required.
Ownership of the submissions process and maintenance of schedules for monthly close and quarterly forecasts. This includes ownership of the templates/models for submission of key central entries for the publishing company.
Update and maintain large volume data analysis in deal tracking/spending.
Maintain communication and provide financial/accounting guidance and support to our global partners.
Own responsibilities related to annual statutory audit including financial reconciliations and support collection related to the global royalty circulation.
Perform periodic trend and industry analysis and provide insights to executive management
Assist in financial modelling for new artist spend and investment

Bachelors' degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
4-5 years’ experience working in a corporate environment within a finance or accounting role
Baseline understanding of financial statements
Be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-fueled environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to keep information confidential
Intermediate experience working with Excel
Prior experience with data analytics or tools a plus
Experience in the music/ entertainment is a plus
Experience working with Hyperion, BPC or SAP is a plus, but not required

Salary Range:
$68,640 - $112,567The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
