Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our Mortgage Pricing team in Toronto, Canada. This role involves developing new Java functionality to meet assigned deliverables within an existing architecture, adhering to coding standards, and utilizing established toolsets. The successful candidate will participate in transformation projects across Development, UAT, and Production environments. Collaboration with a US-based team is key. Agile methodologies are central to the process, requiring ownership of task delivery within deadlines. The ideal candidate will contribute to building a small team of 2 Angular and 2 Java developers in Canada.

Must have:

5+ years Java development (financial services)
Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL, ElasticSearch
GIT, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker
Event-driven architectures, microservices
Agile development experience

Good to have:

Mortgage, bond trading, risk, or price capture systems familiarity

Project description

We're looking for a talented and passionate Developer to join our Mortgage Pricing team. The successful candidate will help drive transformation projects of our environment across Development / UAT and Production. Our plan is to build a small team of 2 Angular and 2 Java developers in Canada that will collaborate with US-based team

Responsibilities

Develop new functionality in Java to meet the assigned deliverables.

Work within existing architecture, coding standards and tool sets in order to deliver software that is supportable across the global team.

Follow the team's agile processes and take responsibility for delivery of tasks on schedule.

Skills

Must have

5+ years of experience in large scale Java development projects for financial services.

Able to work with virtual and in-person teams, and work under pressure or to a deadline.

In depth knowledge of Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL, Elastic Search or similar cache.

Very familiar with GIT, CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, Docker.

Familiar with event driven architectures and micro-services.

Has worked in an Agile development process.

Nice to have

Familiarity with mortgages, bond trading, risk, or price capture systems
