About the Team The team dedicated to time series databases oversees the complete data engine for the ByteDance backend service monitor. This monitor serves as the fundamental system ensuring the reliability of the site and checking the health status of the service. The team's primary goal is to maintain the systems at their utmost availability and implement highly automated systems and pipelines. They specifically concentrate on enhancing scalability, optimizing performance, and controlling costs for a data set exceeding 100 petabytes, aiming to establish a cutting-edge observability infrastructure in the industry. Joining this skilled team means contributing to the management of a multi-tenant time series database. What you will be doing: 1. Participate in the design and implementation of an in-house observability solution, which is one of the largest internal platforms; 2. Be the owner of products, not only a developer, improving product experience continuously; 3. Work closely with product managers to understand, improve and deliver product requirements.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field with at least 4 years of relevant experience; - Proficient in Golang (go) programming language and familiar with common Linux commands; - Experience in open-source observability solutions like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, or solutions for cloud providers like AWS CloudWatch, Google Cloud Operations; - Familiar with MySQL/NoSQL databases and capable of writing proper queries; - In-depth understanding of the implementation principles surrounding distributed systems; - Skilled in autonomous reasoning, adept at preemptively recognizing issues, and possess a methodical approach to problem analysis and resolution.
