Job Description

The Senior Sales Specialist will be responsible for executing sales activities across a broad geographic region to a designated list of retail, hospitality, and vending accounts. They will build retailer relationships and networks, resolve complaints and issues, prospect for new business, and manage the inventory of instant tickets at vending sites to achieve sales targets and maintain customer satisfaction. This role involves analyzing sales trends, making recommendations on retail promotions, and providing training to retailers on new processes. The specialist will also manage store-level complaints and ensure swift resolution. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Field Sales, the specialist will assist in developing territory profile strategies, managing inventory, analyzing retailer information, and building relationships with corporate account supervisors.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of sales experience, including prospecting and negotiation.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or related field.
  • Knowledge of sales management tools and key account management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, GeoMapping, and CRM.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently within Ontario.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License.

Senior Sales Specialist – Ottawa-Hawkesbury, ON Region

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Sales Specialist to execute sales activities across a broad geographic region to a designated list of retail, hospitality and vending accounts, build retailer relationships and networks, resolve complaints/issues, prospect for new business, manage inventory of instant tickets at vending sites all in an effort to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates who live within the territory.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Field Sales, you will be empowered to:

  • Assist Senior Manager Field Sales, in developing territory profile strategies, including prospecting for new retailers and channel development, in order to boost sales and coverage

  • Manage inventory of instant tickets through proper allocation and merchandising of product at retail and in self-serve vending machines

  • Analyze sales trends in assigned districts and develop recommendations on retail promotions and sales to be submitted for the approval of Senior Manager Field Sales

  • Analyze retailer information, conduct a profitability analysis include ROI and breakeven analysis to determine entitlement for terminal allocation

  • Develop field level relationships with Corporate Account Area Supervisors and Managers to discuss and execute sales plans and initiatives

  • Manage store level complaints and implement corrective actions to ensure swift resolution.  Proactively assess, clarify, and validate retailers’ needs on an ongoing basis to ensure their needs are fulfilled

  • Provide training to retailers on new processes, procedures, rules and regulations, sales promotions and contests, new product offerings to create awareness and ensure compliance to guidelines

  • Provide content and review all retailer publications, training material, promotional activities and new product/terminal training guides

  • Engage in special project assignments (managing account merchandizing plans and compliance, negotiating premium space, etc.) to promote existing/new channel development

  • Accountable for keeping merchandise and POS current and in good repair both at retail and in remote storage unit.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: 5+ years of experience across the sales lifecycle including prospecting, need identification, qualification, negotiation, upselling and cross selling; field level experience in account management and issue resolution 

Education: post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Customer Service or related discipline

Critical Skills: Knowledge of sales management tools and techniques, key account management, demand planning, forecasting, budgeting, product allocations, channel management, inventory management etc.; Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), GeoMapping, and CRM; leadership, problem solving, communication, and relationship building skills; ability to travel frequently (sometimes overnight) within Ontario; ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis
