About the role

Crunchyroll, LLC is on the lookout for a passionate and seasoned Senior Software Engineer, Android to elevate our Android teams. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in producing robust applications that deliver content that will delight and engage our audiences, partners and internal stakeholders. You will also be ensuring our software products are of the highest quality and reliability. You will be a vital part of the development team, advocating for top-tier test methodologies and best practices, providing feedback on developer-authored tests, and providing strategic direction for our automated test coverage with comprehensive end-to-end system-level tests. This role will report into the Engineering Manager.

We are considering applicants located in the East Coast US - Remote.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • You have 8+ years of experience in software development and testing
  • You develop complex, consumer-facing video streaming applications within the Android platform
  • You are experienced with modern Android development tools and practices
  • Proficiency in Kotlin
  • You have strong experience with Android test automation tools and frameworks including Espresso, Robolectric, Appium, Jetpack Compose UI Testing
  • You have experience in performance testing tools and API testing tools
  • You define and deliver technical roadmaps of larger projects, often involving cross-team dependencies
  • You push boundaries using industry best practices and customer feedback to implement strategies that drive products
  • You provide quality feedback on designs written by other members of the team
  • You help to shape the engineering culture through involvement with activities outside of your direct team

We collaborate with product, design, program management, video engineering, platform engineering, and service monetization to deliver a unique and enriching experience for our customers. We embody Crunchyroll’s collaborative spirit and work with several teams to engineer scalable solutions that can be shared across all client platforms.
