Job Description

The Senior Technical Designer will plan, design, and develop tools and pipelines for content creation, production support, and product debugging. They will act as ambassadors for these tools and processes, streamline workflows, and simplify tools for designers. They will also build a knowledge base for production teams by providing information and training, provide solutions for editor problems, and collaborate with designers to bring creative visions to life. The role requires owning the authoring and integration pipeline for technical game data.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with multiple game editors and various production workflows.

Must Have:
  • 6+ years experience in the video game industry in Technical Design.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C++.
  • Experience with visual scripting graphs, such as Unreal Blueprint and Unity Bolt.
  • Optimization-oriented and performance-oriented.
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation.
  • Skilled at reverse engineering and debugging complex problems.
  • Organized, structured, thorough and conscientious.
  • Strong written and spoken French and English.

SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER

Reports to: Technical Design Director

Permanent – Full-Time

 

 

What you will do

  • Plan, design and develop tools and pipelines for content creation, production support and product debugging.
  • Act as an ambassador by becoming a power user of these tools & processes.
  • Use scripting languages such as visual.
  • Act as a complexity gatekeeper by streamlining workflows and simplifying tools for designers.
  • Build a knowledge base by providing information, training and mentoring material for production teams.
  • Provide quick and efficient solutions for day-to-day editor problems and content creation obstacles.
  • Work hand-in-hand with designers to help get their creative visions on-screen.
  • Own the authoring and integration pipeline for technical game data such as streaming, multiplayer and persistency.
  • Profile, review and optimize game data and scripts.

 

What you bring

  • Be an advocate for content creation development technology and solutions.
  • 6+ years experience in the video game industry in Technical Design or Technical Level Design.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C++.
  • Experience with visual scripting graphs, such as Unreal Blueprint and Unity Bolt.
  • Optimization-oriented and performance-oriented (properties, functions, graphs, objects…).
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation.
  • Skilled at reverse engineering and debugging complex problems and systems.
  • Organized, structured, thorough and conscientious.
  • Strong written and spoken French and English.
