Job Description

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will lead and implement security programs for the Engineering team, collaborating with senior leadership to enhance security and reduce risks. Your responsibilities include building and leading strategic technical programs, prioritizing initiatives, educating the organization on security risks, driving remediation for vulnerabilities, developing metrics, conducting audits, and managing stakeholder relationships to improve Opendoor's security posture. You'll also participate in quarterly and annual planning for the Security team. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in program management, and knowledge of security compliances.
Must have:
  • 4+ years as a TPM, engineering or product leader
  • Experience working across multiple functions, influencing and collaborating
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Experience building roadmaps and release plans
  • Experience using a consulting approach
  • Experience with PCI, SOC 2, SOX, and ISO27001 compliances
Good to have:
  • Management consulting experience a big plus
  • MBA/MS or equivalent with specialization in marketing, finance, mathematics, business or related field of study

Location

This role will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
While you’ll enjoy the flexibility of remote work, we also love to see our colleagues face-to-face! We ask you to join us at our San Francisco office for 2-3 days a week for team collaboration and some fun. It's a chance to connect, share ideas, and maybe even grab some coffee together!

About the Role

We’re looking for a talented Technical Program Manager to manage and implement security programs for the broader Engineering team.  You will work closely with senior leadership across the engineering organization in order to strengthen security programs and systems while also reducing security risk for all aspects of doing business at Opendoor.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead strategic technical programs for the Security team
  • Prioritize key technical initiatives and features to enforce security policies
  • Partner with Engineering to educate the organization on the security risks of their design and implementation 
  • Drive clarity and structure in ambiguous situations by asking the right questions and applying insights you’ve gained
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive remediation for identified vulnerabilities within established timeframes.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to track the effectiveness of the vulnerability management program.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of vulnerability management processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of user access permissions to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to identify and address access control issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with SOX UAR requirements.
  • Manage diverse relationships with Engineering, Product, and Operations stakeholders to execute on operational recommendations
  • Drive cross-team initiatives to bolster Opendoor’s overall security posture
  • Participate in quarterly and annual planning for the Security team

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years as a TPM, engineering or product leader
  • Experience working across multiple functions/ business units, influencing and collaborating with others to successfully drive programs
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to work with business owners and product management to define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions
  • Experience building roadmaps, project/release plans with a strong understanding of dependency management
  • Experience using a consulting approach to identify and build business strategy
  • Experience with PCI, SOC 2, SOX, and ISO27001 compliances

Bonus If You Have

  • Management consulting experience a big plus.
  • MBA/MS or equivalent with specialization in marketing, finance, mathematics, business or related field of study.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The U.S. pay range for this position is $142,400.00 - $178,000.00  annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
