Summary

As a Senior Tools Engineer (World Editor), you'll play a key role in the development of a new IP at Elsewhere Entertainment. Your responsibilities will include crafting and implementing various asset creation and management tools, maintaining and supporting existing and new infrastructure, working with content creators and designers, and designing user-friendly interfaces for content creators. You'll be responsible for building large-scale world/scene editors for games, managing large data sets, and collaborating effectively as part of a creative team. You'll also need strong problem-solving skills, a positive and collaborative attitude, and the ability to meet deadlines. Bonus points for experience with 3D authoring software, knowledge of UI/UX best practices for game tools, and a passion for playing a variety of video games.

Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Tools Engineer (World Editor) to join the development of a new IP.   
 
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining! 

 

As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.  

 
You’ll help us by 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:  

  • Crafting and implementing various asset creation and management tools ranging from exporters to content creation tools, to asset management tools, to build tools, to frameworks 

  • Maintaining and supporting existing and new and infrastructure as needed 

  • Working with content creators, designers, and other specialists to document requirements and ensure tool design specifications are met 

  • Design and development of user-friendly interfaces for content creators 

 

You’re awesome because you have 

  • Experience building large scale world/scene editors for games 

  • Experience with game data streaming and working with large data sets 

  • The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team 

  • Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude 

  • Organization methods and the capability to meet deadlines 

  • Comfort with self-critique and accepting outside feedback 

  • A habit of regularly playing and understanding modern video games 

 

Bonus points for 

  • Technical knowledge of other 3D authoring software (Blender, UE, etc.) 

  • Knowledge of best practices in UI/UX for game tools 

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles
