Job Description

This Silicon Engineer role at Google in Taipei, Taiwan is targeted towards 2024 and 2025 graduates. Responsibilities include performance validation and simulation using C/C++ and RTL-based models, analyzing results qualitatively and quantitatively, creating automation tools/scripts, and participating in the evaluation of future ASIC designs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience with C/C++ or RTL. A Master's or PhD with an emphasis on computer architecture is preferred, along with experience in RTL design and knowledge of OS, firmware, or software stacks. The role involves contributing to the development of custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • C/C++ or RTL experience
  • Performance validation & simulation
  • Result analysis (qualitative & quantitative)
  • Test suite automation
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in Computer Architecture
  • RTL design experience (core, cache, etc.)
  • OS/Firmware/Software stack knowledge
  • Power architecture knowledge
  • Excellent scripting & C++ skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Academic coursework in computer architecture (e.g., core, cache, memory, etc.).
  • Experience with C/C++ or RTL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  • Experience designing/implementing or validating RTL design (e.g., core, cache, fabric, memory, codec, etc.).
  • Knowledge of OS, Firmware, or software stack.
  • Knowledge of performance or power architecture, power estimation, modeling, or optimization of processor or ASIC.
  • Excellent scripting language, C/C++ programming, and software design skills.
