Job Description

Google Photos is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions and features. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams across timezones to deliver new features and products. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to software development practices, driving technical discussions, triaging technical issues, and debugging. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree), 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms, and a strong understanding of client-side (web and mobile), server-side (search, storage, serving), and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) development. The position involves working on a critical project within Google's fast-paced environment.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3+ years software development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain software
Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience with tools/infrastructure development
Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience with tools and infrastructure development to improve software engineering process.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Ensure software development practices are being adhered to in work.
Drive technical discussions with peers and stakeholders.
Triage technical issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and conducting investigation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across timezones to deliver new features and products. Drive decisions related to scoping and milestones.
