The Sr. Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting is a key member of the Finance organization, reporting to the Sr. Accounting Director. This role involves preparing SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), researching new accounting guidance, and handling complex accounting issues. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, assisting with cash flow statements, reviewing XBRL files, managing stock-based compensation, and performing impairment assessments. The role also involves purchase price allocation analysis, acting as a technical accounting expert, documenting accounting treatments, and assisting with audit support and special projects. The role requires ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and working with internal and external auditors. The candidate will need to drive reporting and technical excellence.
Must have:
  • 7+ years experience in public accounting + technical accounting and SEC reporting
  • BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent and CPA designation
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting regulations
  • Effective technical writing and research skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Technically proficient with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability
Good to have:
  • Experience with ASC 280, ASC 718, ASC 842
  • Experience and working knowledge of Oracle and XBRL tagging services

Job Details

The Sr. Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting is a key member of our Finance organization. This position is reporting to our Sr. Accounting Director and is responsible for preparing the Company's filing of various SEC documents such as Form 10K, 10Q, 8K and other ad hoc filings. In addition to financial reporting, this position offers the opportunity to leverage an extensive background in technical accounting. This individual will have the capacity to drive reporting and technical excellence. In addition, this role is responsible for researching new accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of complex accounting issues and transactions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the preparation of all external financial reporting, including Forms 10-K/10-Q, earnings releases, proxy statement, and other required SEC filings to ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist in preparation of the Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Shareholder’s equity, Earnings per Share, noncontrolling interests workbooks and other financial disclosure requirements.
  • Review XBRL interactive data files for all Form 10-Q and 10-K filings in accordance with the SEC filing requirements.
  • Responsible for stock-based compensation accounting and all related stock compensation disclosure requirements.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual impairment assessments and perform complex lease assessment and review.
  • Assist in purchase price allocation (PPA) analysis for acquired businesses, including valuation of intangible assets and goodwill.
  • Act as one of Corsair’s technical accounting subject matter experts. 
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of accounting treatment of complex and highly judgmental transactions, including analysis, relevant literature, and conclusion. 
  • Evaluate the impact of certain new accounting standards, prepare assessment papers, and assist with implementation. 
  • Work with internal and external auditors to support quarter-end reviews and year-end audits by providing timely & accurate data and communication. 
  • Participate in the preparation and review of government surveys.
  • Complete special accounting and finance projects as assigned. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 7 years combined experience at Big 4 public accounting + technical accounting and SEC reporting at a public company. 
  •  BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent and CPA designation required.
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting regulations. Extensive experience with ASC 280, ASC 718, ASC 842 is desirable.
  • Effective technical writing and research skills, and solid experience in the implementation and handling of complex U.S. GAAP accounting matters.
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a willingness to support a lean team on a variety of high priority tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including written and verbal communication, especially in developing positions and presenting to management, auditors, and non-accounting stakeholders. 
  • Technically proficient with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines by managing multiple deliverables concurrently.
  • Demonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability, and ownership of assignments. 
  • Experience and working knowledge of Oracle and XBRL tagging services preferred.


For roles that are based at our headquarters in Milpitas, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  

Annual Salary Range $170,000—$195,000 USD
