The Sr. Sales Engineer will support the Public Sector Sales team in the Northeast region, driving technical sales activities. This role requires in-depth experience with products and services, and solid networking and security skills. Responsibilities include providing technical sales support, performing presentations, designing network monitoring architectures, and managing customer relationships. This role is a critical component of the regional sales team.
Must have:

- Perform in-depth and technical presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent experience.
Good to have:
- Experience in VMware, AWS, or Azure.

We are seeking a Sr. Sales Engineer to support our Public Sector Sales team in the Northeast region. The sales engineer is a critical component of the regional sales team. The primary responsibility is to drive technical sales activities for new and existing opportunities in enterprise accounts. A Sales Engineer will have in-depth, hands-on experience with products and services, as well as competitor's products and services, and can demonstrate solid networking and security skills to customers and partners.
Preferred home location would be NY, NJ or MA
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical Sales support for all Gigamon products and solutions.
- Performs a high-level specialized systems engineering role as an individual contributor specializing in pre-sales activities
- Performs in-depth and technical presentations for customers, partners, and events.
- Designs network monitoring architectures with top customers.
- Responsible for all customer proof of concepts and product evaluations from deployment to completion.
- Provides mentorship/guidance on Technology and competitive trends to clients, partners, and employees.
- Manage key End-user technical relationships.
- Communication driver between Field and Corporate on technical issues.
- Complex pre-sales technical support.
- Account and Partner Management/Development
What you’ve done:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical area (Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
- 8-10 years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer role in network, security, or Cloud.
- Experience in VMware, AWS, or Azure is desirable
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
Who you are:
- Effective technical presentation skills.
- Good Communication capabilities.
- Comfortable with technical and business English usage (document reading, e-mails, conference calls).
The base salary compensation range targeted for this role, based at Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office, is $145,000-$182,000, with the opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to the plan's terms and conditions).
