Sr. SW Development Engineer

Role Description

We are looking for Sr. SW Development Engineer. You will report to Director of System Integration, Broadband business unit.

Location

Hybrid role – working at 3-4 days a week from our office in Bangalore.

What You Will Be Doing

This position is with a globally dispersed team responsible for Harmonic's clustered compute platform and edge applications.

The platform provides a Kubernetes environment for running edge application that include Harmonic's virtualized DOCSIS and PON solutions. The work requires an understanding of the complete cluster compute technology stake - from Linus kernel to Kubernetes clusters to applications - and will involve analyzing and optimizing Linux Kernel performance.

What You Will Need To Succeed

Over 5 years of experience in systems programming

Coding proficiency in C, C++ and Python.

Knowledge of Linux kernel design.

Expertise in analysis and tuning of Linux parameters using eBPF and other tools.

Expertise in Linux networking and kernel network stack.

Troubleshooting end-to-end application performance across networks and microservices.

Expertise delivering high quality code with extensive unit tests.

Any of the following will be considered a bonus:

Experience programming Linux kernel drivers.

Experience integrating drivers and firmware from hardware vendors.

Experience with security technologies and concepts such as Secure Boot.
