The Strategic Account Executive at Google Cloud Platform will manage the growth strategy for enterprise accounts. This involves building executive relationships, becoming a trusted advisor, and understanding customers' business needs deeply. Responsibilities include managing complex business cycles, presenting to C-level executives, negotiating terms, and driving business development. The role requires leading account strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams and Google Partners to maximize business impact. Experience in cloud or software sales and account management is essential, along with expertise in selling cloud solutions and aligning them with business outcomes.
Must have:
  • 10+ years quota-carrying cloud/software sales experience
  • Experience selling cloud solutions across multiple industries
  • Ability to build executive relationships and influence technology decisions
  • Expertise in managing complex business cycles and negotiations
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Good to have:
  • Experience growing existing customer base and acquiring new logos
  • Experience working with Customer Engineers and technical leads
  • Experience defining migration plans and building business cases

Job Details


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or account management at a B2B software company.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience selling Cloud Solutions, Infrastructure Software, Databases, Analytic Tools, or Applications Software across multiple industries, aligning solutions to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience growing existing customer base and acquiring new logos at scale, to increase spend and accelerate consumption business.
  • Experience working with, and leading, cross-functional teams and partners in implementations and negotiations.
  • Experience working with Customer Engineers and customers' technical leads to inventory software estate, define migration plans, and build migration business cases.

Responsibilities

  • Build executive relationships with enterprise customers to influence their long-term technology and business decisions. Add value as a trusted advisor.
  • Become an expert on the customers' business, including their SaaS product portfolio, technology strategy, strategic growth plans, business drivers, financial structure, customer base, vertical market offering and engaged landscape.
  • Manage complex business cycles, presenting to C-level executives and negotiating terms.
  • Drive business development, own operational excellence at scale, forecast accurately, and achieve strategic goals by leading customers through the entire business cycle.
  • Lead account strategy to develop business growth opportunities, working cross-functionally with multiple teams and Google Partners, to maximize business impact within enterprise customers.
