The Strategic Account Manager will build and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts within the Telecoms & Networking sector, positioning Wind River as a leading provider of Distributed Edge Cloud solutions. The role involves developing and executing long-term sales strategies, driving revenue growth through solution selling, and inspiring internal teams. The manager will also represent Wind River in direct engagements and negotiations with clients. They will collaborate with global sales colleagues to share and implement best practices. This role requires a strong entrepreneurial background and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building trust with high-level clients.
Must have:
  • Minimum 10 years sales experience in Telco & Networking.
  • Experience in major account planning and deal negotiation.
  • Proven success meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Expertise in solution-selling to stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of business & software processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Opportunity

Position: Strategic Account Manager, Telecoms & Networking Sector

Reports to: VP of APAC Telco Sales

The Role
The Wind River sales team plays a pivotal role in building strategic, long-term partnerships with customers, enabling them to maximize the potential of Wind River’s solutions. We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager with a proven entrepreneurial background and a history of exceeding sales targets while building trust with high-level clients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and an ability to establish enduring customer relationships.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Telco Sales, your primary responsibility is to establish and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, positioning Wind River as the leading provider of Distributed Edge Cloud solutions in the Southeast Asia and ANZ Telco market.

Key Deliverables:

  • Build and expand a strong presence within target telco accounts, becoming a trusted advisor at all levels.
  • Develop and execute long-term sales strategies and tactical plans.
  • Inspire internal teams (Engineering, Pre-Sales, Customer Success) to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Represent Wind River in direct engagements, negotiations, and RFPs.
  • Address client technology challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Drive revenue growth through strategic solution selling.
  • Collaborate with global sales colleagues to share and implement best practices.

Collaboration

You will work closely with:

  • Colleagues across Wind River, including pre-sales technical experts, customer success teams, and sales administrators.
  • Telco sales teams to align strategies and meet sales targets
  • Internal and external senior executives to review and optimize business strategies

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales/account management within the Telco & Networking sector, preferably with cloud or open-source software expertise.
  • Experience with major account planning and negotiating large-scale deals.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding individual sales quotas.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and engage with senior management.
  • Expertise in solution-selling to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of complex business and software development processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
