Job Description

The Strategy role involves leading Aspire's expansion efforts in Canada. Responsibilities include developing and executing the expansion strategy, including go-to-market initiatives, and defining the Canada-specific product roadmap. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners, along with representing Aspire in communications. The ideal candidate should be based in or experienced in the Canadian market with a deep understanding of the payment landscape. The job involves driving GTM, growth and/or product. The role is expected to perform market analysis and drive projects to achieve successful outcomes.

About the Role 

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Country launcher to lead our expansion efforts and bring Aspire to Canada.
  • You will be responsible for driving Aspire’s geo expansion strategy in Canada and supporting expansion efforts including GTM initiatives, financial and product partnerships. 
  • You will play a pivotal role in defining Aspire's Canada product and GTM roadmap based on business and customer requirements, regulatory environment, and the demands of financial network partners.

What will you be doing?

  1. Drive Canada Expansion Strategy:
    • Develop and execute an expansion strategy for the Canadian market, in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Develop the go-to-market plan:
    • Develop and execute market positioning, awareness, offering, and distribution initiatives 
    • Collaborate with regional and cross-functional teams in support of that plan
  3. Canadian Product Roadmap Definition:
    • Work closely with product teams to define the Canada-specific product roadmap, considering business requirements, customer feedback, and the needs of financial network partners.
  4. Other expansion support:
    • Be the face of Aspire in Canada
    • Represent Aspire in communications with regulators, central banks, financial partners, distribution partners
    • Hiring and administrative support

We would love to get to know you if you have the following: 

  • Based or experienced in the Canada market 
  • 6 - 8+ years of experience working on payment or fintechs in the Canadian market with a deep understanding of Canada’s payment landscape.
  • SMB segment focused preferred.
  • Zero to One mindset.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving GTM, growth and/or product
  • A strategic thinker with a keen ability to analyze market trends and business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with significant internal and external dependencies.
  • Proven leadership skills in driving cross-functional projects to achieve successful outcomes.
