Job Description

The Waiter will perform duties according to departmental standards, ensuring polite and constructive communication with guests and promoting hotel services. Key responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, taking and serving food and beverage orders, including wine and coffee, and assisting kitchen staff. The role requires anticipating guest needs, promoting positive guest relations, and handling complaints effectively. Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in a 4/5 star hotel or recognized bar, a natural attitude for excellent service, good English, and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment. Must have:

  • Record guest orders following departmental policies and sequence of service.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and assist in seating.
  • Take guest beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Retrieve and serve alcoholic beverage items from the bar.
  • Open and serve wine/champagne bottles in front of the guest.
  • Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to guests.
  • Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
  • Promote positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities.
  • Handle guest complaints by following instant pacification procedures.
  • Clear each course following departmental procedures.
  • Answer outlet’s phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and etiquette.
  • Adhere to Hotel and Corporate Guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all guest information.
  • Practice ‘Yes I Can’ Attitude.
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in the same position in a 4/5 star hotel or recognized bar.
  • Good command of English Language.

  • To communicate to both internal and external customers in a polite, courteous and constructive manner.
  • To actively promote the services and facilities of Hotel to guests and visitors
  • Assists kitchen staff in replenishing buffet items.
  • Record order of guests following departmental policies and sequence of service.
  • Greet guests upon arrival at the outlet and assist in seating in accordance with departmental standards and sequence of service.
  • Takes guest beverage order, utilizing suggestive selling techniques, when specified on function requirements.
  • Retrieve alcoholic beverage items from bar and serve to guest in accordance with the departmental standards.
  • Open and serve wine /champagne bottles in front of the guest in accordance to the standard.
  • Make all varieties of coffee in accordance to the hotel standards.
  • Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to guest in accordance with departmental standards and functions requirement.
  • Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Promote positive guest relations at all time.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
  • Handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Clear each course following procedures laid down in departmental procedures.
  • Answer outlet’s phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Adhere To Hotel And Corporate Guidelines.
  • Maintain Confidentiality With All Guest Information.
  • Practice ‘Yes I Can’ Attitude.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3/ 4 years in the same position in a 4/5 star hotel or in a well recognized Bar.
  • Natural attitude towards providing excellent quality service.
  • Good command of English Language
  • Age – 20 to 27 Years
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging work environment.
